As I begin the year as the “new guy”, I must thank the College community for welcoming me so warmly. It has been a privilege to meet many of you on the first day and as you had time with your children at the start of Prep and their Primary classes. A particular welcome to the new families who join the College community for the first time. Our new structure for the first day was aimed at giving our returning and new students the best possible start to their year.

At Charlton, efforts for students and each other are founded in our LIFE cornerstones; with love being the focus of term 1. Bible verse of the term: John 13:34 “Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another”

Thank you too for your encouragement and support as we’ve worked to have our students present themselves in a way that reflects appropriate pride in both themselves and the College. During the “Grace” period over the last week, students and parents have been keen to ask and clarify uniform expectations in order to have them correct for this past Wednesday (for Yr 8,10-12) and for this coming Monday (for Yr 5, 6 and 9). Please note that the College’s uniform expectations have not changed but we are committed to being effective in seeing them met. Students are fully aware of the consequences should they choose to come to school out of uniform. Rest-assured that all staff seek to be fair and that we remain committed to ensuring positive and respectful interactions with all our students through this re-calibration phase.
