WHAT IS FUEL?
FUEL (Fun, Unique and Educational Learning) is the Middle School elective program.
It runs fortnightly for four periods for all students in Years 5-8. The elective program helps students find and develop their passion in learning areas that suit them whilst creating long lasting friendships.
Electives are chosen each term via HQ. There are so many activities to choose from each term such as surfing, mountain biking, rocket launching, drama, sewing, tenpin bowling, film animation, cooking, robotics and many more exciting areas to choose from.

LEARNING
During the Middle years our students are with a provided with a Core Teacher who oversee students well-being across Academics, Spiritual growth and Social and emotional development. Students are also exposed to specialised teachers for a range of elective subjects as well as sport and our You Can Do It Program.
OPPORTUNITIES
Our students are encouraged to be involved in both serving and leading during their time in Middle School.
In Stage 4 our students have the opportunity to be nominated for our Compass Gifted and Talented program. These students are nominated by our staff and are involved in extending themselves in areas such as, engineering, writing and academic research.
EXTRA CURRICULUM
Middle school at Charlton offers a wide range extra curricular activities which including interstage Mission trips, chapel services, camps, excursions, musicals, lunch music and sporting clubs as well as our elective FUEL Program
(Fun Unique Educational Learning).

TECHNOLOGY
In 2018 we are commencing a BYODD (bring your own desigated device) 1:1 technology program. With this technology being introduced we are confident this will enhance our Middle School students learning experience.
A campus-wide network ensures that students can be online and connected safely to the internet anywhere on site.
Our HQ learning platform will provide students access to coursework and resources, as well as being able to communicate with their teachers. We are proud to offer a Robotics program across the College, with an emphasis on future technologies and career options.
